Oikea sähkön hinta is published by Radif Partners, an independent publisher of calculators. The site exists for one question the popular Finnish spot-price sites leave unanswered: what does a kilowatt-hour cost me once transfer, taxes and my own network operator are included? Search for the spot price and you usually get the exchange price alone, sometimes with VAT, sometimes without. We work out the all-in price and show every part separately.

What we do better

The most visited price sites show only the exchange price, and the daily price stories in the news state separately that the prices exclude transfer fees and retailer margins. Oikea sähkön hinta adds to every quarter hour your own operator’s transfer fee from its own price list (72 operators, general, time-of-day and seasonal products), electricity tax from the Tax Administration’s table and VAT. It tells you the cheapest start time for a sauna, an electric car or a washing machine in euros, and works out whether a spot or a fixed-price contract would have been cheaper on your consumption.

Funding and independence

The site sells no contracts, takes no commission from retailers and passes on no contact details. If ads are added there will be at most three per page, never above the calculator and never from an energy company that could sway the figures. No retailer or network operator can pay to be mentioned.

How we work

Every tax, fee and price sits in a data file with its source and date. Exchange prices update automatically every day, transfer fees are checked by script against each operator’s price list, and the calculations are tested at every update. Read the method and the editorial policy.
